Travel Tips on the go....

  1. Leather and fur are the norm during winter, mostly black but some brown. (Shopping tip?)
  2. Driving will be fast, bumpy and crazy.  Forget about seatbelts.
  3. Good walking boots are a must in winter.  It's cold, snowy and slippery and it's ALL UPHILL!
  4. Price your taxi ride before getting in.
  5. Take coats and shoes off as soon as you get inside.  It's rude not to.  They consider outdoor cloths dirty.
  6. Take snacks like cereal bars, cookies, gummies, goldfish, fruit rollups.
  7. Take Wet Wipes.
  8. Only exchange enough USD for a few days.  Don't carry wads of cash.
  9. Bring travel size toiletries and shop in Kiev.
  10. Slippers and lounge clothes for inside.  Wear street clothes only to go out.
  11. One week's underwear is enough.  Wash and hang dry as you go.
  12. One dress up outfit is enought for SDA, Orphanage director, court and church.  It doesn't need to be a suit.

  14. Take pictures of EVERYTHINg of you'll regret it later.
  15. Learn Russian, not Ukrainian. 
  16. Be sure to buy some flowers, eat lots of chocolate and don't be afraid to eat the salads.  They're yummy.
  17. If you plan to visit any cathedrals, take a head scarf for each female in your group.
