Packing List

* Take expendable clothing - buy it from discount or thrift stores so you can leave it behind to make more room to bring home souveniers and gifts.
- One wheeled bag and one daypack per person (max)
- Wet Wipes, large ziplocs, sanitizer, kleenex packets
- Snack bars, especially if taking children
- Two sets street clothes. mostly black. plus wear one set of street clothes.
- One Court/SDA/Church outfit
- Complete copy of dossier, letter with requirements for US Embassy, copy of facilitator's contract (no brainer)
- Money belts for cash ( I actually took a small purse that I could sling over my head and shoulder, very convenient for daily transactions. The rest of our cash was safely stashed in our apartment. )
- Crisp bills, mostly 100's but also about 20x$50's, 20x$20, 20x$10 and 20x$5. (the last were given as gifts)
- *House clothes 2 of long underwear or shorts/T-shirts to wear when at "home"
- *House shoes (slippers or heavy socks)
- *Enough underwear for a week
- Good, seasonal walking shoes We each took one pr boots and wore them exclusively in Nov/Dec.
- Seasonal jacket, gloves and hat for winter
- Medicine: advil, Tylenol, decongestant, scripts, pepto , imodium, tums, benedryl, (some chewables)
- antibiotic ointment, Bandaids, chapstick,
- Travel size toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, lotion
- Flashlight, batteries,
- Camera, extra cards, extra batteries, charger, power converter
- Journal, 3-4 pens, small notebook for notes
- Books, Videos, DVD player, laptop (especially with kids)
- puzzle books, school books (for kids)
- Russian/Ukrain Language books, flashcards
- For child: Stuffed animal, blanket, photo album, coloring book, crayons,
- Electric adapter
- Small packets coffee, creamer, sugar
- Neck pillow for plane
- Extra room to bring home souveniers and clothes for child
Don't take
- Pillowcases for each person. (Their pillows are bigger than ours and linens were provided)
- Travel towels for each person
- Toys, giftsor clothes for your child - you can buy them there for less.
- Gifts for helpers, again these can easily be bought.
